How often does my credit report change?

Your credit report will be updated if the terms of your loan changes, including the credit limit (i.e. how much you have/can borrow) or if you close the account. The exact times for the change showing on your credit report will depend as each credit provider will follow their own process for providing information to a credit reporting body.

If you have an open account for which repayment history information can be reported (like a home loan, credit card or personal loan), your lender will probably report that repayment history information each month (which will be added to the ongoing 24-month history of your payments).

It is important to note that credit providers may not provide information to all three Australian credit reporting bodies, which is why you should check your credit report with each of the credit reporting bodies (Equifax, Experian, illion).
